Ingredients:
- Halal Flago Taro Balls (large or small)
- Rock sugar to your liking
- 1/2 cup coconut milk (optional, for creaminess)
Instructions:
Cook the Taro Balls:
- Boil a pot of water.
- Add the frozen taro balls and cook for 10-15 minutes, until they float and are tender. Stir occasionally to avoid the taro balls sticking to each other.
Prepare the Sweet Soup:
- In a separate pot, bring a few cups of water to a boil.
- Add the rock sugar and stir until it dissolves and thicken to your liking
Combine and Simmer:
- Add the cooked taro balls to the sweet water
Add Coconut Milk (Optional):
- Stir in the coconut milk and simmer to your liking texture
Serve:
- Serve warm or cold (by chilling) and enjoy!
Cooking instruction:
- Weigh out 200g of taro balls, ensure there's enough water to prevent sticking (use a lot of water, never little water)
- Bring the water to a boil in a pot, then slowly add the taro balls while stirring (this prevents sticking)
- Once the taro balls float to the surface, reduce to medium heat and time for 3 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking. After that, let them sit covered for 1 minute
- Rinse the taro balls with clean water 2-3 times until there’s no residue, then soak them in sugar water
- FOR THE SMALL TARO BALL: adjust the cooking time to 2 minutes, then strain and rinse
